Pros:
- Leontyne Price at the height of her powers singing Aida is about as good as it gets
- Despite nearing the end of her glorious career, Giulietta Simionato still can deliver a hair-raising Amneris
- Even if the rest of the cast wasn't as stupendous as it is, this recording would still be worth it for Ettore Bastianini's sterling Amonasro.
Cons:
- Dimiter Uzunov has a large voice but lacks the finesse of his colleagues.
