Eugene Onegin
Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau's elegant baritone finds a perfect home in the role of Onegin. Sena Jurinac is radiant as Tatyana, and I defy anyone to present a more musical accounting of Lensky's music than Anton Dermota's. His interpretation is filled with nuance and lyrical grace. While Biserka Cvejic brings vocal strength to Olga, she comes across a little matronly for the role.
