This cannot be bettered. And what a bonus! (see above). The Chrysotemis first asked to participate in Solti’s famous recording on Decca was Berit Lindholm; however she said no, thinking she had not experience enough. She also declined the offer to be Karajan’s Brünnhilde in DG:s Siegfried and Götterdämmerung – upholding she hadn’t sung the role enough many times!
