What a performance, infused with the real essence of the work, as is the very different one with all three same ladies conudcted by Erich Kleiber. Reining may have aged by then, but she comes far closer to the essence of the Marschallin, a Viennese noble lady, a Maria Theresia, than does Schwarzkopf, far more the Parisian comtesse. Jurinac and Güden are glorious together, the great trio is a blend of silver, gold and copper never otherwise achieved. Böhme is good, cannot quite equal the unique Ludwig Weber in the part. Une très belle version du Rosenkavalier, avec un trio de dames de rêve, et un Hans Knapperbusch qui se garde bien de confondre le Rosenkavalier et Parsifal, laissant les viennois jouer cette musique avec la finesse, le charme et l'élégance qui les caractérisent. Seule petite déception du côté des voix masculines, avec notamment un baron Ochs qui frôle trop souvent la vulgarité, en total décalage avec l' ambiance de cette interprétation de grande classe. La qualité sonore est très bonne.
