I ordered this to hear an early recording of Lucia Popp. It is not really an early recording of her as she had some recordings of up to eight years earlier. The recording was extremely poor with quite variable volume and intermittent hums throughout such that it is not really possible to give an accurate assessment of her voice. There are several late 1960s and early 1970s which show off her wonderful voice far better. I would not describe the recording sound quality as fair - rather as "bootleg". Her Sophies and Marzellines, her Queen of the Night and Paminas and many others are where one should listen to her superb voice
