The recorded sound is very good. Rita Gore's full intensely focus voice remains a singular gift or treasure to be precise. This recording is essential to my collection.

some excerpts have a very bad sound. Some (the mahler) are perfect. I had them for long time on vinyl. Now everything gather on MP3. It’s great.

This is a very generous and satisfying compilation of this great mezzo. Rita Gorr was as much a contralto as mezzo, her transparent aristocratic voice bringing Kathleen Ferrier to my mind.. We have a marvellous KINDETOTENLIEDER, moving in the sheer sound of the voice and observance of the emotional context of the songs. Then this same voice gives us Isolde!!The first disc of concert performances is as expected, in good sound.The second disc from opera performances, displays her extraordinary versatility in variable but mostly good sound.Rita Gorr was a great artist with a individual voice the kind of which has disappeared from the scene. No Slavic thickness here, but a transparent lovely contralto. A very welcome memento of a great and under recorded singer.

Pour moi c'est l'une des meilleures versions des Kindertotenlieder de Mahler (je la possédais en 33T). La voix très expressive et dramatique de Rita Gorr convient parfaitement à ces lider. C'est merveilleux !!

A sumptuous, sensuous, full-out, surround-sound sexy mezzo. The Didon and Isolde cuts alone are more than worth the ticket price.
