Pros:
- Marion Lippert is one more example of the embarrassment of riches when it came to dramatic voices in the 1960s. Her instrument possessed the beauty and steel required to be a Turandot of distinction. It is a shame that she had so much competition. If she were around today she would no doubt be in great demand.
- Montserrat Caballé nearly steals the show as Liù, bringing astonishing control to her arias.
- Flaviano Labò brings power and refinement to the role of Calàf.
Cons:
- The chorus and orchestra are not at the same level as the soloists.
