DESCRIPTION

Liane Synek brings her oversized soprano and fervent temperament to the role of Tosca. Her upper register possesses a wild, almost untamed quality, reminiscent of Leonie Rysanek, and, like Rysanek, she tempers it effectively, as heard in a sublimely delicate “Vissi d’arte.” The remainder of the cast sings admirably, though without particular distinction.
