Joan Carlyle takes on the part of Madame Lidoine, and while her voice lacks the gravitas of Régine Crespin or Leyla Gencer, it perhaps reflects a deliberate choice to portray a more youthful character. Sylvia Fisher delivers a fiery and commanding Mere Marie, channeling brimstone and fervor, yet she is deeply moving in her final scene, where she confronts the heartbreak of being left behind as her sisters embrace martyrdom. Jeanette Sinclair shines as Constance, and there is a cameo by a very young Gwyneth Jones as Sister Mathilde.

The sound quality is fair, with some muffling that occasionally obscures the text, but it remains a valuable document of a pivotal moment in the opera's early performance history.
