Teresa Berganza is one of those singers about whom you almost never hear a bad word. Here she sings the role of Sesto. She sings "Parto, Parto" with truly gorgeous legato and then tears into the allegro section with a vengeance. Werner Krenn is noble as Tito. I never understood why this opera isn't more popular. The story is a bit old fashion but the music seems to be pointing towards Beethoven and romanticism. The sound is very good.
