Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Teresa Stich-Randall's Pamina is a standout, combining purity of tone with remarkable evenness throughout her registers, while Anja Silja, still a teenager at the time of this performance, delivers an impressive Queen of the Night. Erich Kunz brings warmth and charm to the role of Papageno, perfectly complementing the lighthearted atmosphere of the production. Christiane Eda-Pierre's brief but memorable cameo as Papagena adds further sparkle to the performance.

Though the sound is occasionally marred by radio interference, the performances of the cast shine through, making this an engaging listen overall.
