Zij is één van mijn favoriete dramatische-sopranen.Het is spijtig dat er niet meer CD/ DVD opnames van haar zijn opgenomen, of bestaan !!!De opname is van ver opgenomen, maar...beter dan niets !!

Distressing recording
Recorded presumably by someone with a tape recorder under the seat which is constantly fiddled with, reproduces the audience chatter through all the preludes plus some outstanding coughing throughout Thais's 2nd act aria. Voices are at a distance mainly, orchestra quite clear. But there's non-stop back ground noise and act 3 scene 2 is omitted in its entirety. You get some idea of how good Neblett is but not sufficient to ever want to listen to this recording ever again. Money wasted in my opinion. Luckily I saw Neblett on stage at Covent Garden several times (though not as Thais) so I do know how good she was.

A WONDERFUL PERFORMANCE FOR A GREAT WORK
GOOD CONDUCTING, A FINE CHORUS, LOTS OF ATMOSPHERE! NEBLETT, AND RYAN EDWARDS BOTH CAPTURE THE SOULS OF THIESE TROUBLED LEADS; BOTH SING BEAUTIFULLY AND WITH EMOTION. I HAVE PLAYED IT A NUMBER OF TIMES. SUDDENLY I WAS IN ANCIENT CHRISTIAN EGYPT.
