- Shirley Verrett was a singer who could not only sing everything, regardless of the range, more often than not she could leave you thinking you had just heard the greatest interpretation of that role that has ever existed. Creating this compilation I kept having that feeling, whether it was Didon in Les Troyens, her Lady Macbeth or her Carmen.
