Plácido Domingo
Plácido Domingo is widely regarded as one of the greatest tenors of the 20th and 21st centuries, a versatile artist whose career has spanned over five decades. Born in Madrid in 1941, Domingo initially studied conducting before focusing on vocal performance, quickly rising to international prominence. His voice, with its rich tonal quality and remarkable power, has made him a quintessential figure in opera, excelling in roles across both the Italian and French repertoires, as well as in works by composers such as Wagner, Strauss, and Verdi. Domingo’s career is also notable for his wide-ranging artistic ventures, including his work as a conductor and his influence as an arts advocate.
In this compilation, I have sought to showcase Domingo's astonishing versatility across the operatic spectrum. This collection includes some of his best-known roles, such as Otello, Radamès, and Cavaradossi, alongside rarities that further highlight his expansive vocal abilities.
The compilation includes arias from Hippolyte et Aricie, Manon, Werther, Carmen, Anna Bolena, Lucia di Lammermoor, I Vespri Siciliani, Un Ballo in maschera, Aida, Otello, Manon Lescaut, Tosca, and Turandot.
