Ingrid Bjoner
Ingrid Bjoner was a true asset to the world of opera. Her cool soprano had a purity that was ideally suited to the jugendlich-dramatisch roles like Elsa and Ariadne. However, that did not prevent her from exploring the Italian repertoire and, later in her career, venturing into the hochdramatisch roles.
It is a great honor to present one of the few retrospectives of this remarkable yet under-appreciated singer. This compilation features arias and excerpts from Don Carlo, Lohengrin, Ariadne auf Naxos, Elektra, Die Frau ohne Schatten, and Daphne.
