Franco Bonisolli
The fact that Franco Bonisolli was beloved by opera fans around the world was not only due to the fact that he possessed the ability to tackle some of the hardest music ever written for tenor with ease and beauty. His true gift was the sincerity and commitment that he brought to every part that he sang and if he lacked some of the cultivated nuance of other tenors, the heart that he brought to his performances more than made up for it. This compilation is a look back at some of his earlier performances before mannerisms started to detract from his prodigious talents, and features arias and excerpts from La Donna del Lago, Guglielmo Tell, Don Pasquale, Luisa Miller, I Vespri Siciliani, La Forza del destino, La Clemenza di Tito, Manon, L'Amico Fritz, Madama Butterfly, La Bohème, Tosca and Faust.
