The Vienna State Opera pulled out all the stops for this production of Prince Igor, assembling a cast of remarkable strength and distinction. Eberhard Wächter brings a regal bearing and warm, commanding baritone to the title role, offering a portrayal that is both noble and emotionally resonant.

Giuseppe Zampieri, a tenor whose career never quite received the recognition it deserved, is excellent as Prince Vladimir, singing with style and passion. The cast is further elevated by the presence of Hans Hotter, Hilde Zadek, and Gottlob Frick, each lending their distinctive voices to this richly layered performance.
