Listen to a Sample:
This recording serves as a good argument that Pauline Tinsley was the greatest Verdi Soprano of her day. If you think that this is hyperbole please listen to the sample below. The voice is powerful and spot-on accurate. Thrilling yet elegant (after all Lady Macbeth, though vicious is still a lady.) The recording is also of interest due to the fact that it is in English with an all English cast. It gives the affair a more authentic connection to Shakespeare and all of the singing actors seem to delight in their language as all of the great English orators do. And unlike many a recording of English opera, you can actually understand what they are saying. The sound is very good.
