Captured in excellent sound, it is almost, if not more valuable than its studio counterpart as it is able to capture the energy from the stage. \u003cb\u003eFernando Corena\u003c\/b\u003e shows that he was capable of toning down the buffo to deliver a human and elegant Figaro. \u003cb\u003eElisabeth Söderström\u003c\/b\u003e is an adorable Susanna and her voice fits very well. I was never a great fan of \u003cb\u003eElisabeth Schwarzkopf\u003c\/b\u003e. To me her interpretation always seemed overly thought out. Listening to this recording, however, it is undeniable how ravishing her voice was in its prime not to mention the incredible control she had over it. Newcomer \u003cb\u003eTeresa Berganza\u003c\/b\u003e overflows with boyish charm as Cherubino. Cioni's voice, although sturdy, lacks grace and does little to overcome the callow nature of the character and imbue him with any kind of sympathy.
