After the rapturous finale of Act I courtesy of Leonie Rysanek and James King the rest of this performance of Die Walkure could have easily been a let-down. Fortunately, Thomas Stewart and Berit Lindholm manage to rise to the same level of excellence. Lindholm’s athletic soprano conveys youthful vigor and is well-matched by Thomas Stewart’s dignified yet warm Wotan. The sound is excellent.
