Why did Amy Shuard have to come of age in an era of Birgit Nilssons, Leonie Rysaneks and Astrid Varnays? In an time with such an abundance of riches her talent was never fully appreciated. Viewed through a contemporary lens in which lyric sopranos sing Isolde's and Elektras it is easier to appreciate her brilliance. I am very happy to be able to share some of the great moments of this unique soprano's career.
