NOTE: The sample provided includes some language from Ramón Vinay that some might find offensive.

Pros:

  • Years ago Irene Dalis told me about her experiences singing Ortrud at Bayreuth and how, according to her, the audience broke into an ovation after "Entweihte Götter" which stopped the show. Sadly, she was sick and missed out on opening night so there is no broadcast; however, we are fortunate to have this radio feature (In English) focusing on Act II, scene i, featuring Dalis and Ramón Vinay as Telramund.
  • In addition to many recorded excerpts, both with piano and orchestra, this program also gives a tantalizing glimpse into the mind of Wieland Wagner as well as insight from conductor Wolfgang Sawallisch.
  • Both Ramón Vinay and Irene Dalis share their thoughts about their respective roles as well as the experience of working with Wieland Wagner.

Cons:

  • None to mention.
